Impact in Action: Our Community Service

How we bridged technology and community to raise environmental health awareness for online drivers.

Completed May 2026

The Mission

Online drivers are part of the informal sector who work outdoors for long durations every day, exposing them to risks like air pollution, UV exposure, heat stress, and extreme weather.

Currently, environmental information like AQI and UV Index is often raw and difficult for the general public to translate into daily safety measures. Our mission was to bridge this gap by developing an environmental hazard awareness system—a non-commercial, preventive digital solution designed specifically to support the health and safety of online drivers.

Empowering Online Drivers

With real-time risk classification (Low, Medium, High) and actionable recommendations, drivers can prepare for the workday and protect their long-term health.

What the Project Delivered

Direct Outreach

We met online drivers face-to-face to introduce the app and talk through the environmental risks of their daily work.

Practical Guidance

Drivers learned to read AQI and UV levels and turn them into simple preventive steps before and during work.

Free, Ongoing Access

The app remains free and available, so participants can keep checking conditions long after the program ended.

Why This Matters

"This project proved that when community intent meets the right technology, the results are immediate and meaningful. We didn't just build an app; we built a tool for everyday safety for the people who keep our cities moving."

Completing this community project is only the beginning. We'll keep refining the app to better serve those whose workplace is the environment itself.
